  “If you can walk away in life having at least forestalled the exploitation of a place, I think you’ve won.” This August, 28 environmental professionals came together for Conservation Strategy Fund’s flagship course, Economics and Finance for Environmental Leadership, hosted in person at Stanford University. Our 2025 course cohort represented 17 different countries and over 25 different organizations and institutions, ranging from government research to independent consulting and indigenous leadership.
CSF Brings Environmental Leadership Course Back to Stanford  “Inspired is the primary word I will use.” That sentiment, shared by multiple participants in this year’s Economics & Finance for Environmental Leadership course, captures the spirit of an experience that has become a cornerstone of global conservation leadership.
Conservation Strategy Fund is heading to COP30 with a delegation led by Julia Queiroz, CSF Brazil Director, and Natalia Sanin Acevedo, Director of the Numbers for Nature Training Institute. Together, they will bring CSF’s unique approach into the heart of climate negotiations: using the power of economics to align development and climate goals. By putting a value on nature’s benefits, CSF demonstrates why protecting forests, wetlands, and coasts is not only essential for biodiversity, but also the smartest investment for people, economies, and the planet.
The Conservation Strategy Fund (CSF) is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Blue Economy Course, a virtual course for members of the Eastern Tropical Pacific Marine Conservation Corridor (CMAR). The training took place between July 28 and September 19, 2025, to strengthen the institutional capacities of participants from CMAR member countries: Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, and Panama.
