En Conservación Estratégica (CSF) ayudamos a los conservacionistas locales a utilizar herramientas económicas para que encuentren soluciones inteligentes y eficientes a los problemas ambientales más urgentes. Desde la creación de CSF en 1998, hemos llevado a cabo numerosos proyectos de análisis en bosques, ríos y ambientes costeros. La mayor parte de nuestro trabajo se ha concentrado en los trópicos, donde los niveles de diversidad biológica son extraordinariamente altos. Economic Analysis for the Indonesian Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries

As part of a generous grant from the Walton Family Foundation, and in cooperation with IPB (Bogor Agriculture University) Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, CSF developed an economic analysis and a set of recommendations to the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF) and the Government of Indonesia (GOI) for implementing the Presidential Instruction on the Acceleration of Development of the National Fishery Industry. The analysis intended to help MMAF to (1) design incentive structures (financial, regulatory, and institutional) for a sustainable fisheries industry, including both the fish-capture industry as well as the post-harvest fisheries industry that includes fresh, frozen and processed/canned fish; (2) determine the feasible scale of post-harvest fisheries industry development based on sound ecological economic criteria which include bio-economics and Indonesia’s socio-economic and governance context; and (3) ensure investments into the post-harvest fishing industry are inextricably linked to sustainable fisheries management.

 

The study included: 1. An impact analysis of Natuna and Bitung case studies. 2. A value chain analysis of Natuna and Bitung case studies and a national level analysis. 3. A macro analysis of current investment policy in the 20 SKPT locations.
