Una mejor red vial Amazónica para la gente y el medio ambiente

Un estudio hecho por Conservación Estratégica descubrió algunas cosas sobre la viabilidad económica de 75 proyectos viales planificados en la cuenca amazónica. Prestando atención al impacto económico y socio ambiental, encontraron que muchos de los proyectos resultarían en una pérdida neta para la sociedad.

Victor Araujo

Victor joined CSF in 2018 as an intern and now works as a data analyst. He holds a Forestry Engineering Degree from the University of Brasília and speaks Portuguese, English, and Spanish. Previously, he worked at the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio) at the Brazilian Ministry of the Environment and the Brazilian Agriculture Research Corporation (EMBRAPA). He has experience researching environmental economics, forest restoration, and landscape ecology, and has been working with GIS and data science to broaden his analysis and data visualization skills.

Corbett Grainger

Corbett is an Associate Professor at University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he specializes in environmental and natural resource economics. His research studies the effects of environmental regulations on different demographic groups, the political economy of environmental policies, ambient air pollution monitoring, and market-based approaches to environmental management. His recent work utilizes remote sensing and satellite data to study the effects of environmental policy.

The Pacific Islands Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA) and the Office of the Pacific Ocean Commissioner (OPOC), in partnership with Conservation Strategy Fund, the Conservation Finance Alliance (CFA) and the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), embarked over a year ago on the journey of the Pacific Ocean Finance Fellowship Program.
