Mangroves are a key ecosystem contributing to biodiversity and flood protection on a local and regional level. Unfortunately most people are unaware of the ecosystem services provided by mangroves. As a result, overfishing and pollution threaten this critical habitat.

Conservation Strategy Fund (CSF-Brazil) analyzed the risks and benefits of the Environmental Reserve Quota (Portuguese acronym, CRA) markets in the state of Bahia, in the northeastern region of Brazil. The goal of this work is to support the government in the design of state law to ensure that CRA markets protect priority conservation areas.

Conseravation Strategy Fund is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Mubariq Ahmad as the first Director of CSF-Indonesia. Mubariq has enjoyed a 30-year career working as economic policy researcher and professional activist in a variety of organizations including The World Bank (2009-2015), WWF (2003-2009), and LEI/Indonesian Ecolabeling Institute (1997-2000). He will take the helm of CSF's program on February 1.
