Pedro Gasparinetti
Pedro is an economist with 15 years of experience working with environmental economics and valuation. He holds a master's degree in environmental economics from the University of Brasília and is enthusiastic about the analysis of and training processes related to impact assessment and the design of efficient public policies and incentives for conservation and restoration. Pedro is especially interested in the use of choice modeling to understand demand for sustainable investments and potential engagement of individuals in conservation programs. He has worked on carbon-related projects, economic analysis of agroforestry-based restoration, incentives for sustainable land use and bioeconomy, incentives for sustainable soybean production, and impacts of artisanal and small-scale mining. Before joining CSF in 2016, he worked as a consultant for GIZ, the Brazilian Ministry of Environment, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the Brazilian Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA), covering topics such as the economics of ecosystem services and biodiversity, ecological footprint, and evaluation of infrastructure projects. In his spare time, Pedro has composed a few soundtracks for short movies and loves to take long bike trips.
