Leonardo is an economist with over 10 years of experience in environmental economics. Prior to joining CSF he worked for the Environmental Economics Research Group at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and the Brazilian Biodiversity Fund (Funbio), bringing with him expertise in conservation finance, the design of financial mechanisms, payment for environmental services, and valuation of ecosystem services. He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, where he went on to obtain a master’s degree in Public Policy and Development. He has experience in Brazil, Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador, and he speaks Portuguese, English, and Spanish. Leonardo is passionate about running, loves going to the beach, enjoys watching football games, and is fascinated by tasting new cuisines.
