Abyd Karmali is Managing Director and Global Head of Carbon Markets at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He is the company's point person for carbon business opportunities and serves on Bank of America's Environment Council which steers the bank's $50 billion environmental business initiative. Mr. Karmali has worked for more than twenty years on climate change, carbon markets and climate finance. He is currently Special Advisor to the Climate Markets and Investment Association after serving as its elected President from 2008-2013 and is also a banking representative on UNEP's Climate Change Advisory Group. He holds an MS in Technology and Policy from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
