Knowledge Management, Learning, and Communications Specialist

CSF Indonesia seeks a full-time Knowledge Management, Learning, and Communications Specialist to join our team. The person will lead and manage the implementation of CSF’s communication strategy, knowledge management system (internal & external), and alumni engagement to strengthen the science-to-policy linkage in both marine and terrestrial biomes, and to bridge the awareness-behavior gap of sustainable development economics amongst key government officials, policy makers, NGO leaders, and businesses. This position will work closely with the Indonesia Director, Program Manager, Natural Resource Economist, as well as our global Communications Manager. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop connections with stakeholders from different locations and institutions, including NGOs, experts, academics, government agencies, and businesses.


Job Description
The knowledge management, learning, and communications specialist will be responsible for leading and managing CSF-Indonesia’s communications work, knowledge management, and alumni engagement. The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Designs and implements CSF-Indonesia’s Communication and Outreach Strategy, taking into account our diverse working sectors, alumni, and stakeholders. 
  • Designs, develops, curates, produces, maintains, and shares communications products, platforms, and materials that facilitate the awareness of CSF brand and sustainable development economics amongst CSF’s networks or contracts with consultants to support design work.
  • Identify necessary communication methods and tools to raise awareness and support for our work. 
  • Collaborate with CSF Global to support global communications initiatives and advise on global narrative, branding strategy, and content development for current and future communication material development.
  • Design, develop, manage, and analyze creative content for different media outlets (social media, press, etc.). 
  • Event management support for programmatic training, programmatic workshops etc.
  • Collaborate with Program Manager and NREs in developing, implementing and managing CSF IDN Knowledge Management System and Numbers4Nature (N4N) Indonesia Program, including active roles in CSF’s courses and trainings in Indonesia and ensuring effective flow of knowledge and information sharing within the organization.
  • Collaborate with Program Manager in developing, implementing, and managing CSF IDN alumni engagement and cultivating strategies.
  • Collect and compile all project documentation (photos, videos, meeting note, and voice recording) and create creative communication products (reports, success stories, impact stories, media advisories, media pitches, PowerPoint slide decks, press releases, talking points) based on the materials.
  • Ensure branding, marking, and accessibility consistency and compliance across events, messages, and products and in accordance with CSF Global guidelines
  • Represent CSF-Indonesia on the CSF global communications team, which includes weekly or monthly coordination calls with other team members, and perform other tasks as required.

Expected Travel
This person is expected to travel 15% of all workdays in a year.

Qualifications

  • Master or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject, experience in international development required.
  • At least 5 years of experience working in communications, including:
  • Implementing or supporting public campaigns. 
  • Implementing or supporting promotional campaigns. 
  • Implementing or supporting a communications strategy. 
  • Developing communications products (e.g. brochures, flyers, reports, infographics, articles, etc.). 
  • Communications to different types of stakeholders, including government agencies and communities.
  • Communications for different media outlets (e.g. social media, press). 
  • Proven writing and editing skills with an ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and engaging style
  • Experience developing social media content, building a social media presence, and monitoring news coverage and social media conversations.
  • Knowledge of sustainable development, terrestrial and/or marine conservation, fisheries, or economics is preferable. 
  • Experience with knowledge management product development.
  • English fluency, both spoken and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize and work within deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated, willing to learn, and able to work with minimal supervision. 
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and positive attitude.

Terms of Offer

  • Annual contract position based in Indonesia, preferably Jakarta or Bogor.
  • Knowledge Management, Learning, and Communications Specialist will report to the Program Manager. 
  • Competitive compensation commensurate with level of experience. 
  • Expected start date is 01 May 2024.
