Global Landscape Restoration Reference Tool

In partnership with Conservation International, CSF-Brazil is developing a restoration reference tool, to provide key information on the costs and benefits of successful ecosystem restoration projects in Cambodia, Indonesia, and Peru.

A Conservação Estratégica (CSF-Brasil) está produzindo um guia com informações que contribuam para captação de recursos financeiros a serem utilizados na gestão ou implementação de áreas protegidas a nível local.

Áreas protegidas contribuem para conectividade ecológica e para a proteção da biodiversidade. Além disso, a nível local, são necessárias para o desenvolvimento sustentável da cidade e a provisão de serviços ecossistêmicos essenciais, como acesso a água potável, proteção contra desastres e espaços de lazer. Porém, a criação e gestão destas áreas são grandes desafios para governos, principalmente no âmbito de recursos financeiros.

The Pilón Lajas Biosphere Reserve & Communal Lands lies on the eastern slopes of the Andes in northwestern Bolivia. This reserve connects 4 protected areas in Bolivia and Peru, protects safeguards the headwaters of the Alto Beni River, serves to regulate the local water cycle, and is also a hotspot of endemic biodiversity.

Incorporating Ecosystem Services into Urban Planning in Mexico

CSF, in partnership with GIZ, is providing technical and political guidance on how to integrate ecosystem service values into urban planning to the city governments of León, Mérida and Morelia.

Evaluating the economic, social and environmental costs of planned road projects in the Amazon Basin

With generous support from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, CSF is working on a project to identify the relative riskiness of planned road projects in terms of economic, social and environmental costs in the Amazon basin, and to engage decision makers to ensure that this analysis is relevant, understood and to the greatest extent possible considered in decision-making processes.
