Indonesia's 2016 Economic Tools for Marine Conservation

A little over one month ago, CSF completed its second Indonesian Economic Tools for Marine Conservation course hosted in Bali. Twenty-four Indonesian conservation professionals from nineteen institutions participated in the two-week course. Some of the institutions represented were the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Dept. of Environment and Forestry, University of Indonesia, TNC, WWF, as well as other national universities and NGOs and private consultants.

Herramientas Económicas para la Conservación de la Naturaleza - México y el Arrecife Mesoamericano 2016

 

Hace aproximadamente un mes, el curso de Herramientas Económicas, en su tercera edición con enfoque marino-costero y pesquería, concluyó de manera satisfactoria. El curso se llevó a cabo en instalaciones de El mangle, en La Paz Baja California Sur, México. Se contó con la participación de 20 profesionales conservacionistas, quienes representaron a 17 instituciones públicas, académicas y ONGs de Honduras, Belize, Guatemala, and Mexico.

A Conservação Estratégica tem o prazer de anunciar Dr.Mubariq Ahmad como o primeiro diretor da CSF-Indonésia. Com 30 anos de experiência como pesquisador na área de política econômica e ativista profissional, Mubariq trabalhou em diversas organizações, incluindo o Banco Mundial (2009-2015), WWF (2003-2009), e LEI/Indonesian Ecolabeling Institute (1997-2000). Ele assume oficialmente o comando do programa da CSF na Indonésia no dia primeiro de fevereiro.

Quantifying the economic value of protected areas in Mexico

p>CSF worked with Mexico’s National Commission for Protected Areas (CONANP) and the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) to assess the economic value of the ecosystem services provided by the country's Cabo Pulmo National Park, Iztaccíhuatl-Popocatépetl National Park (Izta-Popo for short), Cozumel Reefs National Park, and Cozumel Island Flora and Fauna Protected Area.
