In a world that is facing unprecedented environmental challenges, the need for effective communication and knowledge transfer has never been more crucial. As a conservation NGO with a rich history of 25 years, we firmly believe that storytelling is a powerful tool that can inspire change and empower individuals to make a positive impact on our planet.
Between January and May 2023, the Conservation Strategy Fund (CSF) -in consortium with Kara Solar and the Binational Development Plan of the Peru-Ecuador border region- participated in the second phase of the Climate Finance Accelerator (CFA) to promote the fluvial transport powered by solar energy in the Peruvian Amazon. Seeking to replicate in the country the initiative developed by Kara Solar in Ecuador for solar boats, our project was one of the eight projects selected to receive advice and financial tools to strengthen this low-carbon innovation and attract financing.
I recently returned from my first Conference of the Parties (COP) from the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) that took place in Montreal, Canada. I was inspired by the events I attended, the positivity and hope surrounding our meetings and objectives, and by the final agreement on the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF). I can only imagine what it must have taken to get 190+ countries to agree on the 23 targets in those final few hours of the conference.

On Sep 13, 2021, Piensa Verde promoted its first “Green Carpet” concert event (“Alfombra Verde Respira”) to bring together Bolivian celebrities, the press, and the public to raise support for the protection of Bolivian forests through a night of fashion, fun, and music. 
In 2018, Conservation Strategy Fund (CSF) and our partner Oceana conducted a cost-benefit analysis (CBA) to assess the creation of the proposed Nazca Ridge Marine Protected Area (MPA) located off the coast of central Peru. Our analysis estimated the benefits from the creation of a proposed MPA 100 kilometers offshore and found that the benefits to conserving the marine ecosystem far outweighed the costs of management.
In early June, Conservation Strategy Fund released a statement standing in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter protests. To support those fighting for environmental and social justice, CSF recognized that the organization needed to take steps to help support and uplift diverse voices. In response, CSF organized an all-staff call to discuss the Black Lives Matter movement and to hear the stories and concerns raised by staff in all of the international offices.
In response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, CSF Indonesia held its first-ever webinar as a part of our collaborative engagement with the Sintang District Government in West Kalimantan, Indonesia for its Green Sintang Action Plan.
