Guillermo has held director and president positions at various organizations, including Financiera Independencia, Canacintra, the National Chamber of the Paper Industry, the Coordinating Council for Foreign Trade Business Organizations (COECE), the National Chamber of the Match Industry, and the Confederation of Industrial Chambers (CONCAMIN). At CONCAMIN, he chaired the Ecology Commission, including serving as a judge for an environmental award. He is a lifetime board member of Pronatura and has collaborated with the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (North America). He also serves on the board of the Mexican Red Cross. Guillermo studied at Anáhuac University and earned an MBA from the Pan-American Institute of Senior Business Management (IPADE).
