Remote (Latin America preferred)

CSF is seeking a dynamic and experienced Grants Manager to play a key role in expanding our funding streams and securing partnerships with international organizations such as GIZ, World Bank, UNDP, USAID, etc. The ideal candidate will have broad experience and success in leading proposal development processes from inception to submission and in successfully securing large grants and contracts. This person will have strong team management and proposal writing skills and will be capable of working under tight deadlines.

Our work focuses on developing strategies that balance conservation goals with economic development, ensuring a sustainable future for our planet. Funding for biodiversity and combating climate change is growing, and identifying and successfully securing contracts and grants for work that can have impact at scale has become critically important to our team. 

Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising:

  • Develop and execute a targeted fundraising strategy with CSF’s executive team to secure financial support from a variety of sources, including government agencies, foundations, and companies.
  • Research and identify new funding opportunities, keeping abreast of trends and priorities within the conservation and environmental sectors.
  • Work with country directors on large and collaborative proposals.

Proposal Development:

  • Lead the development of high-quality grant proposals, concept notes, and project budgets in collaboration with country teams.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proposals align with organizational objectives and meet the requirements of potential funders.
  • Partnership Building:
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with potential donors, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Work with country directors to explore collaboration opportunities with international organizations, government agencies, and NGOs to expand CSF's reach and impact.

Grant Management:

  • Oversee the tracking and reporting of grant and consulting activities, ensuring compliance with donor and client requirements.
  • Work closely with program managers to monitor progress, evaluate impact, and report on project outcomes to donors.

Communication and Outreach:

  • Contribute to the development of marketing materials and communication strategies to enhance CSF's visibility and attract potential funders.
  • Represent CSF at conferences, meetings, and events to network and promote organizational objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, international development, economics, environmental studies, or a related field. Master's degree or the equivalent in experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience in fundraising and business development, particularly in the non-profit sector.
  • A strong track record of generating winning six-figure proposals. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals and reports.
  • Knowledge of environmental conservation issues and familiarity with international funding organizations.
  • Excellent team management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Negotiating skills, analytical abilities, problem-solving, leadership.

Strong preference for candidates living in Latin America and specifically Colombia, Costa Rica, Bolivia, Peru, or Brazil. We are unable to sponsor work visas. Salary commensurate with experience and dependent on location.
